New: adult women's football on Thursday nights, from 1 October

A weekly session for adult women of any age and any ability, including women who have never kicked a ball. Thursdays, 6.30 to 7.30pm at St Edward's, then tea and a chat. No trials, no pressure, and no need to book.

We are launching a weekly football session for adult women of all ages and all abilities, and the first one is this Thursday 1 October.

This is not just for people who can already play. It is for anyone who:

  • has never played and fancies giving it a go
  • used to play and would love to get back into it
  • wants a decent way to get fitter
  • would simply enjoy meeting people and having a kickabout

Thursdays, 6.30 to 7.30pm, at St Edward's School. Tea, coffee and a chat afterwards, which for several people already is the main attraction and is a perfectly good reason to come.

If you help with one of our teams

Michelle Keeler and the coaches would particularly like to see the mums and female volunteers who do an enormous amount of organising around this club and have never thought of themselves as someone who could coach. Come and have a kickabout, ask questions, see where it goes. No football experience and no coaching experience is needed, and nothing is expected of you for turning up.

No trials, no pressure, and no need to be good at football. You do not need to book. Turn up at 6.30 and Michelle will find you.

There is more at summertownstars.org/womens-football, or email enquiries@summertownstars.org and it will get to Michelle.

Please pass this on to anyone you think would enjoy it.
