Team manager

Run the team off the pitch, so the coach can concentrate on the football.

An hour or two a week, mostly on your phone

How many hours
An hour or two a week, most of it on your phone in the evening.
Where it sits
Your team, with the fixtures secretary doing the league side.
Is there a budget
No budget attached to this role.

What you would do

  • Sort fixtures, pitches and referees, and tell everyone where to be
  • Run the team WhatsApp group and chase availability
  • Be the person parents ask, which saves the coach a great deal of time

What the club gives you

  • DBS and safeguarding, both free
  • A fixtures secretary who does the league side
  • The gratitude of a coach who would otherwise be doing this at eleven at night

What is required

DBS check

An enhanced criminal records check, free to you and arranged by our Welfare Officers. Every adult in regular contact with children at the club has one, without exception.

Takes two to four weeks, so we start it the day you say yes.

Safeguarding Children in Football

The FA's online course. Free, done at home, and it needs renewing every three years.

Takes about three hours, at your own pace.

What is not required

  • No coaching badge
  • No first aid qualification
