The Summertown Stars annual tournament took place last month, bringing 310 teams and 4,000+ visitors to Cutteslowe Park for an incredible two-day festival of football. Teams ranging from U7s all the way through to adults and veterans braved the heat to take part in 975 matches over the weekend.
The Summertown Stars annual tournament took place last month, bringing 310 teams and 4,000+ visitors to Cutteslowe Park for an incredible two-day festival of football. Teams ranging from U7s all the way through to adults and veterans braved the heat to take part in 975 matches over the weekend.
All the Summertown Stars teams played well, with several making it through to winning their group. The winners from Summertown Stars were their Boys U8 (Tigers), Boys U17/18 (Eagles), Girls U10 (Wildcats), and Girls U13 (Arctic Wolves) teams.
Notably Tennyson’s (older players) U6’s did really well competing in the U7 part of the tournament.
But it was not only footballing prowess on show that weekend. The club also showed its true heart and soul, with players supporting each other through wins and losses and stepping up to volunteer alongside parents.
A huge amount of work went into making the tournament a success – from the volunteers to the coaches, the referees to the organising committee, our generous sponsors and those who donated prizes to the raffle.

Changing things from Father’s day the tournament committee has set the date for 26th 27th June 2027! We hope that makes it easier for our wonderful volunteers to step up on the Sunday (traditionally father’s day).
