At the end we will tell you which of our development sessions your child can come to this week, without waiting for anything. Every child who wants to play gets a place. From the development session we find them a team at a level that suits them, because a beginner dropped into a competitive league has a miserable season, and so does everyone around them.

How much football have they played?

A rough idea, and there is no wrong answer. Every child who wants to play gets a place. We do use this to work out which team suits them, so an honest answer helps your child more than a generous one, nobody enjoys a season spent out of their depth, or one spent bored.

What could you help with?

This is the part we would ask you to read properly. Summertown Stars has no paid staff. Every coach, every manager, every person marking a pitch on a Saturday morning is a parent who stepped up.

It matters most in the development sessions. A group of children only becomes a team when the parents around it decide to make one, and when that happens we find them a training slot, put them into the league at the next entry point, and they are away. Teams that never find willing parents stay as sessions.

Anything you can offer? Optional.

You do not need to have played to be useful. Plenty of the most valuable help has nothing to do with football.
